Becky was a Red Self Persian
and was born in 1993. She was an extremely affectionate cat to humans
but not always to other cats. When she was younger she would insists on
“marking” her presents around the house and was often told off by Thomas.
As she got older luckily she grew out of that behavior. Becky loved nothing
better, as you can see, than sunbathing on a hot sunny day.
Early in 2008 she was diagnosed with kidney disease so was put on Fortekor.
A small growth was detected at the same time near her liver, this was
monitored but never caused a problem.
She started to be troubled with arthritis but because of her kidney problem
we were limited to what pain killers could be used, she was given Seraquin
which contains glucosamine to help.
Towards the end of November we had to take her to the vets as she had
deteriorated, she was put on a drip and kept in for a few days. Within
a couple of weeks of being home she again went downhill so on the 9th
December 2008 we returned to the vets where the sad decision was taken
to put her to sleep.
We had Becky living with us for fifteen years, we will miss her so much!
